Do you have an interest in planning /  helping run a community event?

The BCCC is an entirely volunteer run event. We currently have 4 (amazing) people on our organising committee and we are seeking additional help in two key areas.

Our current members cover event operations, event day volunteers and communication/marketing, however we are seeking a couple of extra hands to help us with:

  1. Seeking sponsorship: Our sponsors are key in making our event possible, and ensuring all proceeds from riders go towards the charity and not running the event.

  2. Coordinating the ‘mini festival’ to run alongside the BCCC event day: This is a key event that adds so much vibrance to event day, and benefits the local community who can showcase their business to hundreds of riders.

The roles entail:

Sponsorship role:

  • 1x 45minute committee meeting a month (now to November), online. This is our monthly check-in with other committee members.

  • Contacting potential sponsors (between now and August/Sept). We have started reaching out to sponsors, so we will need you to follow up, and also reach out to new potential sponsors. We will give you the BCCC sponsorship pack, which details the options available, and all the data a sponsor will need to make an informed decision. We’d be looking to secure at least 5 sponsors.

Festival role:

  • 1x 45minute committee meeting a month (to November), online

  • Contacting local businesses, inviting them to set up a stall on event day, for either a small donation to our charity, or value in kind which we can use as prizes for riders on event day. We will provide you with the ‘mini festival’ pack, with all the relevant information. We’d be hoping to secure 10-15 stallholders for event day.

You don’t need to be an events or sponsorship specialist. You just need to keen and able to follow through with reaching out to businesses to try and either have them sponsor or come along on event day.

If you think you are keen, please contact either Katie or Gav on: bccyclechallenge@gmail.com
